Through October, some of the HDAA team participated in the Black Dog Institute’s One Foot Forward fundraiser. The campaign aims to increase support for those in Australia experiencing mental illness, and the funds raised will support research into early detection, prevention and treatment of mental health disorders. The funds will also go towards vital support services for those most at risk.
Kellie Buckley spearheaded the efforts, pledging to walk 60 kilometres in the month of October. Kellie not only reached her fundraising target amount of $1000 and easily surpassed her target kilometres, but with the help of Suzanne, Amie and Marc, the team have raised $1986 and walked 339kms – equivalent to the distance from Brisbane to Bundaberg! Well done to the team on their tremendous effort.
Kellie wishes to thank her walking team members, HDAA, all those who made donations or took the time to show their support. If you still wish to still donate, you can do so by clicking on this link.
